Honda played a central part in ‘the best CarFest ever’ over the August Bank Holiday, according to Chris Evans, the Radio 2 DJ, next Top Gear presenter and CarFest founder.
CarFest South, which takes place at former racing driver Jody Scheckter’s farm, Laverstoke Park in Hampshire, has rapidly become one of the best car festivals in Britain, with great family entertainment provided as well.
Adults were treated to Honda’s product range on the main stand, where the CR-V and the spanking new HR-V, Jazz and Civic Type R, plus the Sport and Tourer versions, all strutted their four-wheeled stuff alongside the brand new learner-legal CB125F and Forza 125, the legendary VFR800F and sweat-inducing CBR1000RR Fireblade. Oh, and there was the F1 McLaren-Honda MP4-30 boxed up like a toy car to admire, too.
And for the little ones there was Honda’s My First Licence, a mini-motorbike taster session for children aged five to 11, who received tuition on mastering two-wheeled riding on 50cc CRF50s, around a specially designed course. For those a little older, TRX 420 ATVs were on hand to teach teenagers the dark arts of throttle control and balance while slaloming around obstacles. For the over-16s, Honda ride-on lawnmowers provided a generous dose of smiles, as participants powered them round a garden course, complete with garbage grabbing.
As well as a field full of entertainment, Honda’s presence helped raise impressive funds for Children in Need.
Philip Crossman, Honda UK’s Managing Director, said: ‘We’re already very much looking forward to next year.’ And so are we.
